If you're losing most of your teeth, or you've had enough of a loose denture, you may be wondering whether fixed full-arch teeth are possible for you. Here's how we decide whether 3-On-6™ is a good fit.
What 3-On-6™ involves
3-On-6™ replaces every tooth in one jaw with three separate fixed bridges — one across the front and one on each side — supported by six or more implants. Where there's enough bone and gum, the teeth sit on your own gum line, and the gaps between bridges let you clean around each implant much like natural teeth.
Who it may suit
- People with several failing, loose or broken teeth in the same jaw
- People who have lost most of their teeth and wear a denture they're unhappy with
- People with gum disease where the remaining teeth can't be saved
What affects suitability
Bone and gum
3-On-6™ needs enough bone height and width in the right places to place six or more implants, and healthy gum tissue. A CBCT scan shows us exactly what's there.
Your general health
Uncontrolled diabetes, smoking, some bone medications and previous radiotherapy to the jaws can all affect healing. Age on its own isn't a barrier — health matters more.
Your smile line
If your gums show when you smile, how the new teeth meet your gum line matters. We'll talk through how your teeth are likely to look before you decide.
If 3-On-6™ isn't right for you
If there isn't enough bone, we'll explain whether bone grafting is reasonable, or whether another option — such as an implant-retained overdenture — would be more predictable. Where a specialist is better placed to help, we'll refer you.
The next step
Book a free 3-On-6™ consultation (normally $150) in person or by telehealth. We'll review your history, arrange a CBCT scan and give you a written plan and quote. Read more about 3-On-6™.
