Root Canal Treatment
Save your natural tooth and relieve the pain of an infected or damaged nerve.

What is root canal treatment?
Root canal treatment (endodontic therapy) saves a tooth whose soft inner pulp has become infected or damaged. It relieves pain, prevents further damage and can save the tooth from extraction.
Signs you may need a root canal
- Sensitivity to hot or cold that lingers
- Pain when chewing or biting
- Swelling around the tooth or gum
- A bad taste in the mouth

What happens
We numb the area, then remove the damaged or infected tissue from inside the tooth. The canals are cleaned, disinfected and sealed. A temporary filling protects the tooth while a custom crown is made.
At your next visit the crown is fitted and adjusted. With good care, a root-treated tooth with a crown can last many years. Fees vary with the tooth's complexity.
Any surgical or invasive procedure carries risks. Before proceeding, you should seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health practitioner.
