About 3-On-6™
3-On-6™ replaces a full arch with three separate fixed bridges on six or more implants. Where bone and gum allow, the new teeth sit on your own gum line and can be cleaned like natural teeth.
Three bridges, six or more implants
The arch is divided into a front bridge from canine to canine and a bridge on each side at the back. Each is supported by its own implants — typically six in the lower jaw and six to seven in the upper.
- Your own gum line — no pink material where bone and gum allow (FP1/FP2)
- Less bone reduction — no space needs to be made for a gum flange
- Cleans like teeth — floss and interdental brushes reach each implant
- Shared load — biting forces spread over more implants
- Serviced in sections — one segment can be removed without disturbing the others
Illustrative example of a lower arch only. Implant number and position are planned for each patient from a 3D scan.
FP1, FP2 and FP3 explained
Full-arch bridges are classified by how much tooth and gum they replace.

FP1 — teeth only
Needs good bone and gum. Possible with 3-On-6™.

FP2 — slightly longer teeth
Compensates for mild bone loss without pink material. Possible with 3-On-6™.

FP3 — teeth and gum
Pink material replaces lost gum and bone. Typical of All on 4, and often better where bone loss is significant.
Comparing full-arch options
| Full denture | Implant-retained denture | All on 4 (FP3) | 3-On-6™ (FP1/FP2) | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Fixed or removable | Removable | Removable, clips onto implants | Fixed | Fixed |
| Implants per arch | None | Usually 2–4 | 4 | 6–7 |
| Gum appearance | Pink acrylic base | Pink acrylic base | Pink gum-coloured material | Your natural gum line |
| Bone | Gradual loss over time | Loss slowed around implants | Often reduced to make space for the bridge | Generally preserved |
| Cleaning | Removed to clean | Removed to clean | Water flosser and special brushes under the bridge | Floss and interdental brushes |
| Best suited to | Lowest cost, or where implants aren't possible | Stabilising a loose lower denture | Significant bone loss | Adequate bone and gum |
| Relative cost | Lowest | Lower | Higher | Highest |
Who 3-On-6™ may suit
3-On-6™ depends on having enough bone height and width in the right places, healthy gum tissue, and a bite that can be shared across segments. A CBCT scan is essential to plan it.
If you don't have enough bone, we'll explain whether grafting is reasonable or whether All on 4 would be more predictable. Treatment follows the same timeline and visits as All on 4.
